Using Improv To Save The World!
Sounds pretty grand, eh? By 'Save the World' - we mean anything as humble as enhancing the quality of connection between two people, all the way to facilitating big sweeping changes which will help transform our world for the better. Here's a Pechakucha that Belina did on the subject.

Here are some of the projects we are working on:
We are delivering workshops about 'Using Improv to Save the World' by using applied improvisation techniques. Here's Alieke talking about one Belina and a colleague named Jonathan Hughes delivered at the Applied Improvisation Network Conference in Chicago in 2008.

We are also designing and delivering interventions and workshop about business transformation inspired by nature (which uses improv techniques and will help to save the world). Last year, Belina delivered a workshop about 'Biomimicry and Business' at the Applied Improvisation Network conference in Portland, Oregon. A nice man named Mike Bonnifer wrote this blog about it: www.gamechangers.com.
Belina is also collaborating with new consultancy BCI, which is partnering with Kew Gardens to work with large companies on business transformation projects inspired by nature. Here's a blog about the partnership: www.kew.org/news/kew-blogs/business-shaped-by-nature-about-us.htm.
Doing these sorts of things means we get to contribute to cool events like the London Design Guild's Greengaged day on biomimicry, and act as part of a speakers’ panel for the first Global Business for Biodiversity Symposium.
Saving the world needs global collaboration and new ways of thinking and behaving. How can we work together to transform your business into a healthy, thriving business which also makes this little planet Earth a better place?
Here are two of our 'Love' projects.
Every company should have some projects they do for love. We have two currently:
- The Chrysalis Programme
The Chrysalis Programme: Inviting young offenders in prison and other people at risk of disconnecting from society to make better choices. It's an amazing programme about personal leadership. Belina has been working with the fellas in HRM Reading Prison in the UK. (great for Belina's own improvisation skills). Belina is also in discussions with lovely people in Alberta Canada to expand the programme to the homeless population.
- Ursuline High School
Ursuline High School: For several years, we've been working with the girls at Ursuline High School to improve their business skills.
| “Belina has inspired our students over the last 5 years by delivering enterprise activities which enable students to learn how to make their ideas happen, present for success and to unlock their creativity and leadership skills. She has supported them to develop a greater understanding of how business works and the skills needed to be successful in that world. Our students have hugely benefited from her contribution and we very much hope to be able to continue our partnership in the future.” Lisa Thefaut - Business Links Co-ordinator & Jonathan Lorrimer - Director of Specialism Business and Enterprise, Ursuline High School in Wimbledon, UK. |
