3 Things To Leap Over The Cusp Of Greatness
Not sure how you feel, but I’ve felt that I’ve been ‘on the cusp of greatness’ for a while now. So when my lovely web developer described me as such - I smiled. Clients love our work. More international clients are coming on board. Local clients are engaging us in larger change projects.
And yet the flow is still erratic. Projects are appearing like buses - nothing for a while and then they all clump together.
For me, leaping over the cusp of business greatness would look like a continuous flow of exciting change projects happening all over the world that I love.
So how am I going to make the leap? Michelle Holliday, friend, Thrivability thought-leader and colleague suggests 3 ways:
1. Focus most of all on developing grace. In this state, you'll be more open to perceiving what's needed and what "wants" to emerge. You'll feel ready to react to whatever life throws at you. And you'll be able to participate wisely in shaping the future as it is unfolding. (This is what applied improv is all about, right?)
2. Commit to doing whatever it takes to get to that state of grace. For me, that means filling in my 2012 agenda with blocks of time dedicated to writing and exercise (walking, running or yoga). It means honoring myself and my body as a sacred vessel and vehicle (I'm just working up to the "sacred" part, by the way). And it means positioning a few key visual reminders to breathe deeply and feel gratitude.
3. Envision the results you want. Visualize what your life and work will be like when you're operating in a state of grace, when you're intentionally working with the flow of life. What kinds of projects will you be doing? What kinds of people will be around you? How will you interact with them? What will you celebrate at the end of the year? Hold these images in mind throughout the year. At the same time, leave some room for life to surprise you.
So - when are you going to leap over the cusp of greatness?
